I read a story on your page that really pissed me off.  What can I do?

Well, you have a lot of choices. You certainly could sue us.  In  court, an avatar suing another avatar over an alleged comment made on a third rate web page is certain not only to waste your money, but be very entertaining in open court records.  

The sad truth is we live a country where free speech is protected way too much. You could change that, but it would take a violent overthrow of our government or Patriot Act Part II.

There is of course a line we try not to cross.  We try to offer a mix of news and commentary with a laugh thrown in. There are just some opinions or humorous observations that are going to piss someone off.    If an opinion sets you off that much, then you need to vote republican.

A more productive way to express your anger is to email us.  You will get a reply.  It may piss you off more. If suing or emailing us doesn't appeal to you, maybe writing an opposing view would. We will post any opposing viewpoint without editing it within reason.   You cannot rant like an idiot and violate our standards

Your last option (the best as we see it) would be to get over it.  If you want to start your own web page, we are more than willing to show you how.  The glamorous web site life sucks money from your pocket and you have no life, but you can say all kinds of things that piss people off. Think about it, you came to this page by choice.  Only in the very beginning did we have to kick in doors and force people to read.  Now that people come on their own (in great numbers) we ended this policy.  If readership should drop we reserve the right to go back to doing that.

As a Second Life oriented page, we are not interested in your real life name, pictures, or details.   We will not publish such unless you self disclosure in another publication.    As such, this makes us noncombatants in the "look at how ugly so is so is" real life picture posting and such.   If you choose to bring our real life on the stage that would be unfortunate give our position.

Combating intolerance is a cornerstone of Second Life's Community Standards. Actions that marginalize, belittle, or defame individuals or groups inhibit the satisfying exchange of ideas and diminish the Second Life community as a whole. The use of derogatory or demeaning language or images in reference to another Resident's race, ethnicity, gender, religion, or sexual orientation is never allowed in Second Life.

You printed something that is incorrect

Send an email and we will run a correction as required.  Contact tab is on the main page.  
 

Please note you cannot correct a joke/parody.   Parody is protected speech even when the object does not get the joke.   We do not correct opinion either.  Us calling you an asshole is not a factual statement.   It is opinion (which is also protected).

Dirty Hands

This blog does not accept any ads or compensation from anyone.   Never have, never will.    If we have used your product in an image, we purchased it.  I no more need your permission than I do Ford's to take snaps of my truck.

Living on a Prim?

The title was supposed to be a wacky song title reference.  "Living on a Prayer and 117 prims" which quickly seemed lame and problematic if I got more land.   In fact,  I have moved and moved so this would not of worked and "Living on  a Prim and 383 or so prims" sounds dumb.  

The plan is to just go to "Adric Antfarm" sooner or later.

We do not as a practice, "trade links".   If we link to you we do not expect the same in return because you were selected based on interest / relevance and we may not be your cup of tea.   Oh, no; you can ask us not to link to you.  Deal with it.

Why do we link to people we talk shit about?   Again, criteria.   I don't choose the sites I think our readers would enjoy.   Just because I hate you does not mean you suck.   Perhaps the opposite is more likely.

Fame Whoring

I will absolutely come to your event.  If I get there are see there are only like three people, I am leaving since I can't write an article without making your cry when I mention what a flop your event was.   

You have no input or control on what is written or if anything is written.

1. We can pretty much change the site whenever and however we want.

2. You are solely responsible for anything you submit that we choose to print.  This includes comments you may enter.

3. Adric.us/AdricAntfarm.com may use anything that you send to us.

4. We're only providing information, and you can't blame us for damages if someone uses the information in a way they shouldn't.

Adric.us Web sites (collectively; the "Site") are provided by Adric.us ("us" or "Adric.us") to you ("you" or "User") subject to the following Agreement ("Agreement") and any operating rules or policies that may be published from time to time by Adric.us. Changes to this Agreement Adric.us may, in its sole discretion, change, add or remove any portion of this Agreement, at any time, by posting a new Agreement to the Site. Your continued use of the Site after such changes are posted will constitute your agreement to such changes.

Modifications to Site

Adric.us reserves the right, for any reason, in its sole discretion, to terminate, change or suspend any aspect of the Site, including, but not limited to, content, features or hours of availability. Adric.us  may impose limits on certain features of the Site or restrict your access to part or all of the Site without notice or penalty. Adric.us

Proprietary Rights

You acknowledge and agree that all contents and materials available on this site are protected by copyrights, trademarks, service marks, patents, trade secrets or other proprietary rights and laws. Except as expressly authorized by Adric.us  you agree not to sell, license, rent, modify, distribute, copy, reproduce, transmit, publicly display, publicly perform, publish, adapt, edit, or create derivative works from such materials or content.  You may use material from the site if your organization is non-profit and you give Adric.us full credit for said material. 

At no time can you use material from Adric.us in any commercial publication unless permission is expressly granted in Adric.us's trusted site agreement.  Use of the content or materials for any other purpose is prohibited unless the Creative Commons notice on the main page is adhered to.

User Information

In the course of your use of the Site, you may provide certain information to Adric.us (such information collectively is referred to hereinafter as "User Information").  Use of any User Information you provide shall be governed by the Adric.us privacy policy. Adric.us Privacy Policy Adric.us does keep basic tracking data so that we may better server our users.  This data is limited to items like the site that sent you and what ISP you use.  At no time does Adric.us attempt to gain knowledge of  your name, your address, or any other such information.   Any information that you choose to send us will be used with respect to your stated wishes.  If you send information and ask it be printed without your name, we will respect that.   In no situation will Adric.us release the names or email addresses of those who have contacted us unless we are compelled by court order to do so.

User Conduct

You are solely responsible for the content and context of any materials or User Information you post or submit through the Site. You warrant and agree that, while using the Site, you shall not upload, post or transmit to or distribute or otherwise publish through the Site any materials which: (a) are unlawful, threatening, harassing or meet the legal definition in  Tulsa County, Oklahoma of "obscene", (b) restrict or inhibit any other User from using and enjoying the Site, (c) constitute or encourage conduct that would constitute a criminal offense or give rise to civil liability, or (d) contain a virus or other harmful component, or false or misleading indications of origin or statements of fact (e) contains any form of unauthorized solicitation, or any form of lottery or gambling, or (f) impersonates any person or entity, including any employee or representative of Adric.us.

International Use

Adric.us makes no representation that materials on this site are appropriate or available for use in locations outside the United States, and accessing them from territories where their contents are illegal is prohibited. Those who chose to access this site from other locations do so on their own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws.

Indemnification

You shall indemnify, defend and hold Adric.us, its officers, directors, employees and agents (collectively, the "Indemnified Parties"), harmless from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, liabilities, judgments and fees and expenses related thereto (including, without limitation, reasonable attorneys’ fees), incurred by an Indemnified Party in connection with any claims arising out of, based upon or resulting from any breach or violation by you of this Agreement or any use by you of the Site or as a result of a dispute with another User. Adric.us reserves the right, at its own expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you, and you shall not in any event settle or otherwise dispose of any matter without the prior written consent of Adric.us

Termination

This Agreement constitutes a binding agreement between you and Adric.us until terminated by you or Adric.us, which Adric.us may do at any time, without notice, in Adric.us’s sole discretion. If you become dissatisfied with the Site, in any way, your only recourse is to immediately discontinue use of the Site.

Choice of Law

Dispute Resolution. This Agreement shall be governed by and in accordance with the laws of the , Oklahoma, without regard to conflicts of laws provisions. Any controversy involving Adric.us arising from or in any way related to this Agreement or your use of the Site shall be heard exclusively in the appropriate State or Federal court in , Oklahoma and you irrevocably consent to the jurisdiction of such courts for the purpose of litigating any such controversy.

Notices And Disclosures

Except as explicitly stated otherwise, any notices shall be given by e-mail to, in the case of Adric.us, adric@Adric.us, or, in the case of a User to the e-mail address you provide to Adric.us. Notice shall be deemed given 24 hours after e-mail is sent, unless the sending party is notified that the e-mail address is invalid.

General Provisions

If any provision of this Agreement is held by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid or unenforceable, then such provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible so as to effect the intent of this Agreement, and the remainder of this Agreement shall continue in full force and effect. The failure by either you or Adric.us to exercise or enforce any rights or provisions of this Agreement shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. You agree that any cause of action arising out of or related to the Site or this Agreement must commence within one (1) year after the cause of action arose; otherwise, such cause of action is permanently barred. The Agreement comprises the entire agreement between you and Adric.us and supersedes all prior agreements between the parties, regarding the subject matter contained herein. All provisions in this Agreement regarding representations and warranties, indemnification, disclaimers and limitations on liability shall survive any termination of this Agreement.

Adric.us Respects Your Privacy

Adric.us may at times keep basic tracking data to better server users.  This data is limited to items like the site that sent you and what ISP you use.  At no time will Adric.us attempt to gain knowledge of  your name, your address, or any other such information. Any information that you choose to send us will be used with respect to your stated wishes.  If you send information and ask it be printed without your name, we will respect that. In no situation will Adric.us release the names or email addresses of those who have contacted us or visited our website unless we are compelled by court order to do so.   Even then, we won't give up without one hell of a fight.

If a comment is entered that is not counter to  the first Linden Community Standard below,  does not violates any laws, or (hypothetically ass reaching) pose a threat to national security, Adric.us will not assist authorities in finding IP or email address.
