I have no idea how your day goes, but of course I can imagine. You roll out of bed at 11, count the kids to make sure your check will not be effected by one going missing during the night, wait for the mailman to bring said government check, go wait in line for some of that yummy free cheese, and then run back home hoping you do not miss Springer. For those of us who work, it's much the same honestly (you are missing nothing), but it can be a bitch to stay informed. Yes, I like to think I am fairly well informed on what goes on with Second Life (and you may disagree for damn good reason since you have read my work).
How do I do it?
Well, I have to pick what I read based on the time available. If I roll over and I barely have to time to squeeze one out with the latest issue of Penthouse Forum before I shower, it has to be quick. if I get up in plenty of time for that, it's a much broader read.
First stop is Ch'Know? since she has the best blog roll I can find on the net. Includes New World Notes (never just go right there, it can be shit – always get the highlights first), Pixel Scoop, Crap, Dale, Headburro, and even smaller blogs. If I have time, the next stop is Daniel Voyager's feeds which gives me a pretty complete (if not overwhelming) picture of SL blogs that day. Finally, if time remains, I go off to the side and hit the fashion world (love the bitch fights) with Shopping Card Disco and the IHeartSL feed.
Then I hit the entertaining reads. Do you know what I find entertaining? Prok going on about having to share a bus with crazy people. Holy shit, that is about as good as it gets.
When looking for discussions (of the non idiot level) SL Universe tells me what users are talking about much better than the Linden forums.
Correct, I do not hit any of Linden's shit. If there is anything of interest there, I will see it blogged about with 45% less bullshit by someone else.

I use Google Reader to follow blogs – I use to read the SL blog (when it was WordPress hosted & before) & NWN & Prok, but I dropped them all (well, not NWN, but a look at the headline in Reader tells me if I want to read any further – anything with "Sexiest Avatar…" in the title sees me move on PDQ). Prok I had to stop reading as the arguements in the comments ground me down – Prok knows his stuff but he's sooooooo angry and vicious that every potential discussion takes 2 comments to become a fight and I switch off. For actual news with context & comment that I can make sense of I read you, Pixel, Osprey, Dale – and that's about it
